Something old, something new...
While foreign missions remain to be a very important part of what we do here at Bible Baptist, we have seen a growing need for a local mission field. There are those right in our own town and surrounding community that are in need of a Saviour. There are also those that need a helping hand. We feel that this is a vital area that must not be overlooked. With this in mind we have begun a new campaign to raise awareness of this important ministry at our church. In times past there has been no specific funding for the bus ministry, however, with this growing ministry there are also growing costs.
The average cost of running this ministry comes to about $600 per month. This includes both gas for the vehicles as well as insurance.
We currently have 2 busses and a van that travel around to pick up those that can't drive themselves. The bus ministry takes a special kind of person and the folks that make up our bus ministry do an awesome job. For some, this is the only way for them to get to church and is a very important ministry here at Bible Baptist.
Not everyone can be a bus driver, but we want to make it possible for anyone to share in the blessings that God is giving to this ministry. While not everyone can physically take part in this ministry, there are several ways for us to be a part of this rewarding ministry.
Firstly, you can be a part of this ministry by becoming a pledge partner. Any one time donation or an ongoing weekly or monthly donation will qualify you as a pledge partner. While the bus drivers are the ones physically out in the field, it is money that keeps the buses running and this is a very critical part of our bus ministry. We appreciate any monetary gift you are able to provide.
If just 20 people were to step out on faith and pledge to provide a donation of $7.50 per week we could reach our current monthly goal of $600.
Secondly, you can be a part of this ministry by becoming a prayer partner. Prayers are highly coveted by our bus ministry personnel and it is God's strength that keeps them going as they get out in freezing weather to pick up the kids and those that are unable to drive themselves. Your prayers for them and the safety of those they pick up are greatly appreciated. Thirdly, you can be a part of this ministry by becoming a time partner. As this ministry is growing we need more people that will donate their time to make calls, visit those that are on the bus routes and also those that are able to drive the buses. If you would like to be part of our bus ministry as a time partner please let Pastor Jackson know.
